Unfortunately the fluoroscopy didn't give us a lot of information today. I keep looking for a "magic bullet" and unfortunately I can't find it. The study basically showed that his diaphragm is impaired, that we knew. There appears to be some movement but it's hard to tell what movement Dinky is making versus the ventilator. So it looks like he will definitely be ventilator dependent until the diaphragm is repaired. So the next question is...when? This is something we hope to have answered over the next few weeks. Until then we have to be patient. Those of you who know me know this is not my virtue, but I'm trying. We are coming up on three months now and it's been a hard three months. I still struggle with how "aware" he seems and how challenging his little life has been so far. We'll get through this, though. We have to. One day we will all be riding around in his new Rolls Royce, that he will get for his 16th birthday, and all of this will be a distant memory. And hopefully for him not a memory at all.

Know what I take heart from? So far, everything that has needed to be fixed has been fixable--and fixed! Our Dinky's got a pretty outstanding track record! Go Dinky!! love...

Everyone seems to tell me that children teach you how to be patient. I guess you and Martin are getting a crash course in this particular virtue. (You're doing great!)

Oh, and here in NJ you only get your drivers license at 17. I don't want you guys breaking any laws!

Love and MANY kisses,
Sue
