Monday, 4/25

Today has been a much better day! We have had a great nurse, Dinky has been very comfortable, it's just been peaceful and uneventful. I did try and hold him again but he didn't tolerate it very well this time. I think he needed to be suctioned because he had a lot of secretions, so he was just very uncomfortable. Maybe we can try again tomorrow.

Tomorrow morning he will have fluroscopy studies of his diaphragm. This is the first step getting him ready for his next big surgery. A fluroscopy study is basically an x-ray in motion. So it looks like an x-ray but they will be able to study the movement of his diaphragm. As the doctor put it it's a "movie" versus a "photograph". His next surgery will involve connecting his esophagus and stomach and, depending on this study, plicating (tacking down) his diaphragm. It's nice to know we are again moving in the right direction.
