An early update today. There is a wonderful family resource center here so I have access to a computer pretty easily.
Dinky is doing pretty well. He has still had some blood pressure issues and they have given him some more medication for that. He has been "brady"ing a LOT but we think it's because his tube is so low. It taps on his carina (the area at the end of the trachea) which triggers the bradycardia. He also has some swelling issues in his head again so we'll have to see how that goes. The good news is his blood gases have been better than ever so they have been able to wean his ventilator settings a little bit. All in all he's doing well after a pretty major surgery!
This will probably be my only update today. I am pooped! Martin and I will head home pretty soon. I'm nervous as this will be the first night I've spent so far away from him (we're about an hour and fifteen minutes away). It feels like the first day I left him at the hospital!

Great news on Dinky's blood gas! He seems to be doing VERY well post-op. I am so happy!
I know you both are worrying like crazy about going home tonight. I would be too. But you need to get some sleep to recuperate from all your travels so you can fully be there for your little man.
Love to you, Martin, & Edison,
Sue
I cannot even imagine how worn out you must be. Sleep well, both of you.
I take heart in the positives and fret at the "not yet's," as I know you do. I am looking forward to coming days when there is more heart and less fret! We'll get there. love...
